Do I need any accounting knowledge to use it?

No. If you can take a photo of an invoice, you can use TAXMV. The app handles TIN, GST rate, currency and totals for you and flags anything that looks off before you file.

What can I scan?

Supplier tax invoices, receipts, sales tax invoices, and Green Tax documents (Guest Arrival Cards, guest registers, MIRA Green Tax Excel sheets). Photos, PDFs and multi-page documents are all supported.

What does the AI extract?

Supplier name, TIN/GSTIN, invoice number and date, currency, line items, subtotal, GST/TGST rate and amount, and total. Extracted data goes straight into the invoice form so you can review and approve.

What if the invoice has multiple pages?

Upload all pages together (or a multi-page PDF). TAXMV reads every page and consolidates them into a single invoice record with a page-by-page preview.

What happens if information is missing?

You'll get a validation popup listing exactly what MIRA needs (for example TIN, GST rate, or invoice number) before the invoice can be approved and counted in your tax return.

Which taxes does TAXMV support?

GST (8%), TGST (17%), Green Tax, Withholding Tax, Airport Taxes, Nationality reports and Remittance schedules — all in the official MIRA layout.

MVR or USD?

Both. Local businesses file in MVR; tourism-sector companies file in USD. Set your reporting currency in Company Settings and TAXMV handles the FX conversion using the invoice's exchange rate.

Why is a supplier invoice marked as non-taxable?

Some purchases (like fuel or exempt services) don't carry input GST. Use the Tax Treatment toggle when scanning — non-taxable invoices go to Expenses instead of the GST Input schedule.

How do I export a MIRA report?

Open Tax Centre, pick the report (e.g. GST Input Statement), choose the period, review the validation panel, then click Download MIRA Excel. Only approved data is included.

What if validation shows errors?

The audit panel tells you exactly which row and which field is the problem (missing TIN, wrong GST rate, duplicate invoice number, etc.). Fix them in the archive and the export becomes available.

Can I invite my accountant or staff?

Yes. Go to Team and invite by email. Roles: Company Admin (full access), Accountant (tax and reports), Staff (scan and enter data). Invitees get an email with a join link.

How is my data protected?

Data is stored with row-level security so each company only sees its own records. Files sit in encrypted storage and access is scoped by role.

My scan didn't detect the right numbers.

Open the invoice in the Archive, edit any incorrect fields and save. The AI improves over time, and edits never overwrite the original photo.

TAXMV flagged a duplicate invoice number.

Accepted Answer

That's a safeguard — the same supplier invoice can't be counted twice. Check the archive to confirm and delete the duplicate scan.
