1. Who controls your data
TAXMV, Malé, Republic of Maldives, is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Contact us at taxmvai@gmail.com about anything on this page.
2. Categories of personal data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, phone number, password credentials, role within a company.
- Business data — company name, trading name, registration number, TIN/GST number, address, bank details you enter for invoices, company logo.
- Document content — invoices, receipts, expense records, quotations, guest arrival records and the data extracted from them, which may include names, identification numbers, nationality and travel dates.
- Billing data — plan, billing period, payment status, payment references and bank transfer slips. Full card numbers are never seen or stored by us.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, log and error data, timestamps of actions taken in the app.
- Communications — emails you send us and notifications we send you.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service: scanning, extraction, record keeping and MIRA report generation.
- To authenticate users and apply company roles and permissions.
- To take payment, manage subscriptions and send receipts.
- To send service notifications such as invitations, invoice emails and billing alerts.
- To keep the platform secure, debug faults and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal, accounting and tax record-keeping obligations.
We rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with providers who help us run TAXMV:
- Paddle.com — our online reseller and Merchant of Record, who processes payments, tax and refunds.
- Hosting and database providers — to store your account, documents and records securely.
- AI processing providers — to read uploaded documents and extract the figures shown to you for review.
- Email delivery providers — to send invitations, invoices, receipts and alerts.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information.
We never sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising.
5. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside the Maldives. Where that happens we use providers who apply recognised safeguards and contractual protections for the data they handle on our behalf.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account and document data for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet tax and accounting record-keeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time, subject to those obligations.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, uploaded documents are stored in private storage, and each company can only reach its own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your login private.
8. Your rights
You may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, a copy in a portable format, or that we restrict or stop certain processing. Email taxmvai@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any such email.
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. Changes
We will post updates to this notice on this page and, for material changes, tell you by email or in the app. See also our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
